Whether you’re celebrating in Canmore, Banff, Revelstoke, or Golden, July 1st is a full-on birthday bash for Canada with a local twist. Here’s what’s on in each town, plus a special promo from Rhythm & Howl that Canmore locals and visitors won’t want to miss.
Canmore: Pancakes, Parades, and Big Vibes
Canada Day in Canmore is a local tradition packed with charm, colour, and community. From early-morning runs to mid-day parades, the town is buzzing from start to finish.
Canada Day Breakfast
9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Centennial Park (by donation)Hosted by the Rotary Club of Canmore, this community breakfast is the perfect way to start your day.
Fun Run & Walk – 34th Annual
Starts at 9:00 a.m.
Choose between 3km, 5km, or 10km routes in support of the Canmore Nordic Ski Club.
Canada Day Parade
Starts at 12:00 p.m.
Parade Route: Fairholme Drive → Main Street → Railway Avenue → 10 Street
This year’s theme is “Wild and Free,” celebrating the wildlife and wilderness that define Canmore and the surrounding Rockies.
Celebrate at Rhythm & Howl
After the parade, head to Rhythm & Howl for Burgers, Beers & Big Vibes. Perfect for post-run recovery or patio hangs after the parade.

Banff: Parade, Culture, and Park-Wide Festivities
Just down the road from Canmore, Banff’s Canada Day celebration brings together families, visitors, and locals for a full day of events set against the iconic backdrop of Banff National Park. All visitors receive complimentary admission to Banff National Park on Canada Day.
Live Entertainment and Cultural Programming
Throughout the day, the town will host performances, a family activity zone, and cultural showcases in Central Park and downtown.
Canada Day Parade:
4:30 p.m.
Parade Route: Begins at Fox Street and travels along Banff Avenue, ending at Central Park. Staging begins at 2:00 p.m. on Cougar Street.

Golden: Classic Cars and Small-Town Spirit
Golden kicks off its Canada Day celebrations with high-octane style. The 16th Annual Redline Car Show brings vintage vehicles and local legends to the streets. Expect a festive atmosphere throughout town with live music, food vendors, and a community celebration that’s equal parts laid-back and lively.

Revelstoke: Parades, Pancakes, and Live Music
Revelstoke’s Canada Day is an all-day affair with a little something for everyone—whether you’re starting with breakfast at the Legion or dancing in Queen Elizabeth Park.
9:00 a.m. – Pancake Breakfast
Hosted at The Legion with MLA Scott McInnis. By donation, all are welcome.
12:00 p.m. – Kids’ Bike Decorating
Grizzly Plaza, in partnership with Skookum Revelstoke. Decorations and prizes provided—kids can join the parade if they wish.
1:00 p.m. – Canada Day Parade
Parade Route: Starts at the Courthouse, travels down 1st Street and Mackenzie Avenue, and ends at Queen Elizabeth Park.
2:00 p.m. – Community Celebrations at Queen Elizabeth Park:
- Opening Ceremony, flag raising, and cupcakes
- Food vendors, kids’ zone, bouncy castles, face painting
- Rotary Club Beer Garden (12–7 p.m.)
- Revelstoke Community Band performing from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
