Finding the Perfect Room Type for You and Your Group

Be sure to secure your accommodations early because summer is peak season here in Banff National Park. Select from a range of private cabins and suites, each offering its own unique ambiance and amenities. Here’s a breakdown of what we have to offer;

Spacious Stand-Alone Cabins: 

For families or larger groups, our stand-alone cabins offer ample space, comfort and charm. Choose from: Family Superior Two Bedroom Cabin (sleeps 5), Superior One Bedroom + Loft Cabin  (sleeps 6), One Bedroom + Loft Cabin (sleeps 4). Each stand-alone cabin has a reclaimed wood interior complete with a kitchenette. The living area is complemented by a wood-burning fireplace and a private deck.

Expansive Lodge Suites: 

If you’re seeking roomy accommodations beyond cabins, consider our Superior One Bedroom Suite (sleeps 4) or Superior Jacuzzi Suite (sleeps 6). These options provide extra comfort and convenience for your stay.

Intimate Retreats: 

If you’re in search of a cozy escape for you and your partner consider our Queen Cabin or Jacuzzi Suite. Perfectly situated for cozy nights snuggled up tight. If you need just a bit of of extra space our Jacuzzi Suite with Sofa Bed comfortably accommodates 2 extra guests (for a total of 4), making it an ideal option for small families or friends traveling together.

Please note that while all rooms at Baker Creek come equipped with microwaves, coffee makers, and kettles for added convenience, they do not have traditional ovens. Specifically Jacuzzi Suites (including Jacuzzi Suite with Sofa Bed) do not have any cooking apparatus other than a microwave. Cabins are equipped with hot plates. Superior Suites offer both hot plates and toaster ovens. We recommend planning your meals accordingly, here are our favorite easy cabin meals:

Discover Local Adventures & Attractions in Lake Louise and Banff National Park

Before You Go

Preparation is essential for a smooth and enjoyable time in Lake Louise and Banff National Park. Here are our top tips before you go:

  1. Park Pass: Ensure you have a Park Pass, available online  or at park entry points, as it's mandatory for all visitors.
  2. Fuel & Services: Fuel and services are limited along the highway, so make sure to fill up beforehand and pack plenty of snacks and water. Before embarking on any trail, it's essential to check for possible closures due to weather changes. 
  3. Park Regulations: Familiarize yourself with park regulations, including camping restrictions, wildlife protection measures, and Leave No Trace principles.
  4. Bear Safety: As the Parkway is home to bears and plenty of other wildlife, be sure to carry bear spray, travel in groups, and store food properly. Learn and follow Bear Safety Protocols.

Convenient Shuttle Service to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake 

Experience the beauty of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake hassle-free with our bookable shuttle, operated by Ten Peaks Shuttle and Tours Inc. The Shuttle will pick you or your group up directly from Baker Creek and offers optimal time to enjoy a short hike or stroll around either lake.

Canoeing on Lake Louise and Moraine Lake 

Glide across the crystal-clear waters surrounded by towering mountain peaks. Please note that canoes at both Lake Louise and Moraine Lake operate on a first come-served basis, with each canoe accommodating two to three people.

Rentals are available at the Fairmont Lake Louise Boathouse located on the western shore of the lake, starting at $165 + GST for 30 minutes.

Moraine Lake Lodge offers canoe rentals from their dock starting from $140 + GST.

Must-Do Hikes in Lake Louise

A trip to the Rockies is not complete without a hike in Banff National Park. Whether you’re a beginner hiker or in search of more challenging terrain, there are trails for every skill level. Here is a  list of our favourite hikes in the area:

Easy:

  1. Marble Canyon Out & Back: 1.4 km (0.90 miles) 42 m elevation gain  
  2. Moraine Lake Shoreline Trail: 3.7 km (2 miles) 96 m elevation gain
  3. Johnston Canyon Out & Back: 5.5 km (3.40 miles) 274 m elevation gain

Moderate:

  1. Bow Glacier Falls Out & Back: 9 km (5.60 miles) 240 m elevation gain
  2. Arnica Lake Trail Out & Back: 9.3 km (5.80 miles) 738 m elevation gain
  3. Lake Annette Out & Back: 11.4 km (7 miles) 370 m elevation gain

Hard:

  1. Castle Mountain Lookout Trail Out & Back: 7.2 km 547 m elevation gain
  2. The Big Beehive Out & Back: 10.8 km (6.70 miles) 718 m elevation gain
  3. Taylor Lake Out & Back: 13.2 km (8.20 miles) 797 m elevation gain

 Before hitting the trails in the Rockies, be sure you’re knowledgeable about bear safety and make sure you have the essentials: bear spray, water, sturdy hiking boots, sunscreen, snacks, small first-aid kit, and layers for changing weather.

Only 20 minutes from Baker Creek you will discover Yoho National Park, home to breathtaking sights such as Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls, and Wapta Falls.

The Icefields Parkway is a legendary scenic drive through the Canadian Rockies, spanning 232 kilometers (144 miles) between Lake Louise and Jasper. A mere 15-minute drive from Baker Creek, its entry invites travellers to explore breathtaking sights like Peyto Lake, Herbert Lake, and the iconic Columbia Icefields.
